My first accident!

On 27 March 2019, while on my way to work in the morning, in very very slow moving traffic, I feel a huge blow / push from the back of the car, my heart sank for a few seconds. By the time, I realise what happened, I had already hit a car in front of me. I stopped my car, and turned the ignition off, took a deep breath, and got ready to face, what was here for me on my newly started journey of driving.

I somehow gathered myself and some courage to step-out to see what was it about.

Alas! It was chain accident, caused by a speeding private bus which failed to stop at the right time, at a slope and I wasn’t the worst struck, the vehicle behind me, was completely ruined.

There was pain in the heart for my car was just a few days old, but also a lot of courage that none of it can bring me down. These are experiences that help us grow and learn.

The car was then to be driven to a nearby police station for a complaint and we made our move towards it. A neighbour who car-pools with me was along that day and he offered a lot of help in this entire experience.

Since, the car was badly struck, the boot wouldn’t close. And we were driving to the police station (driver of the car behind mine was also in my car, since her car wasn’t in a state to move at all). There were so many people who stopped by us / pinged us that the boot was open, assuming none of us were aware of it. I converted the entire situation to a laughing stock by asking those people to try their luck closing the boot, only to realise its broken.

There is a lot to learn in every small thing we encounter in our lives. I learnt a lot from this experience.

  • This World is full of nice and kind-hearted people, you will find them when you are in a difficult situation and they will do their best to help you out. The presence and helping gesture of the neighbour was of tremendous help, since it was my first such accident situation with me on the driving seat, while also being a newbie to driving. Also, during this time, a colleague connected with me for some work and I had to inform that I was in an accident and driving to the police station. It was such an amazing experience that this person went out of his way and arranged support in my city (while he is based in another city) to help me out of the situation.
  • Situations which are not in our control, don’t need our stress; instead a solution mindset for us to move on. The lighter we keep our problems, the lighter we will feel and the better the solutions we can find for it.
  • Most importantly, you will not always have your close-ones with you, the ability to learn to deal with the situation as just ‘Yourself’, helps us grow leaps and bounds.

Thank you Universe for granting me another change at life and a chance to share my experiences.

Thank you all for the love, time and attention.

Love

i know how is it feel when something happens like this… but I see the good part in this which is you handle the situation very calmly which is a big thing..money can buy you a new car but it can’t buy you happiness and calm. its a big win for you over the situation. stick with it
