Since, I started being my own companion in every small and big thing in life, it’s been an amazing journey of learning, discovery and happiness. You get to expect everything from yourself and only yourself, work towards it and fulfil the expectations for yourself. And even if you fail, you know where and what to fix and restart.
You all know, I bought myself ‘Wheels‘, and didn’t know I was actually giving myself ‘Wings‘. I know I have talked a lot about my car already, but, its something that’s given me joy to the core, and made me push my boundaries over and over again.
Here we go, my first highway drive of 180 kms from Bangalore to Mysore. I took about 5 hrs to do the drive, which usually takes about 4 hrs. I would consider it a ‘Pat on the back’! Great journey, some mistakes, some learnings, some cuteness of the kids….lots of gratitude!!

Day one of being in Mysore:
My first twilight drive (5 am) to seek the rising sun! What a pleasure, empty roads (roads in Mysore are really good and broad), pleasant environment, wind, people on morning walks, nothing short of mesmerising. I set out on finding a lake for a stroll, though the map said ‘You have arrived’, I was unable to spot the place, I asked a few aunties who were on a morning walk, they only seemed to know Kannada, one elderly uncle stopped by upon noticing the struggling conversation, and guided me to the entry for the lake. Sometimes God sends you these kind souls from nowhere to make some wonderful memories along your journey of life. As I saw the sun coming up, I checked for East on the compass, and just drove. Oh My God, What an amazing discovery of a beautiful place. Yeah, just a helipad, but, pure bliss for me. Sun and Moon in the same panorama, God’s modern art of colors, some happy free running kids…

Those weren’t the only firsts, some more that happened with this trip:
Biscuit’s first long road journey
- Making a long trip for Biscuit called for a lot of preparation, thanks to Jen and Nandinee for always being there to help with the loads of questions of a newbie pet-parent. Biscuit did fabulously well, she started slightly stressed out and was quite comfortable by the middle and end of the journey.
- The stop we took for snacking had a soft toy stall which Biscuit assumed to be real and started to bark on the toy dog there. Find the video on her handle (https://www.instagram.com/biscuitandbro/)
Biscuit’s first vacation
- She also stepped out for her first vacation. My sweetheart, she is just toooo adorable, lovable. (Talking like every mom, I know)
Dropped her at Woof Wagon Pet Resort (http://www.thewoofwagon.com/) to have some socialising time with other dogs (she has some social anxiety, which we are trying to work on and make her comfortable with other dogs too). She settled in beautifully over there, and just loved the helper staff, wagged her tail at him. While we picked her up, she ran towards me and Arav, made ooooooo….. sounds for a good amount of time (trying to tell us what all happened during her 40+ hrs of stay there). The people there are quite humble, Seema, leads the team and is very caring towards the furry kids. She knows them so well and doesn’t leave any stone unturned to make them feel comfortable. Biscuit had mixed feelings, which are surely contributed a great deal on her personal growth. She overcame her fear of car and travel. Wow!!
Some more interesting things to know:
Street Dogs in Mysore are happy kids, comparatively healthy and calm. Loved to observe their activities and alertness. (Sorry for no pics here, always found them when I was driving)
Arav in his Donald Duck avatar!! I always thought it was just the voice uptil now, extended to his feet too. ROFL! Both of us are missing Biscuit in the hotel, every single moment.

Took a horse ride (Tanga) for a palace round, while we were on the ride, Arav said, “I will not engage in anything which involves harming animals”, which left me speechless and just wondering about, what were we thinking when we were this age, practically nothing. Very happy and proud of this generation for being generous and kind from a very young age, I have come across lots of kids in this age group, with strong emotions and beliefs.

What else can you ask for? I have a beautiful life, Thank you Universe for bestowing me with everything worth having in this world.
Forever Grateful for this journey of growth!! Some pains only come to lead us to great pleasures, all we need to do is to identify the knock on the door, and welcome the opportunities (which does call for stepping out of our so-called safe, but, lacking comfort zone).
Every step towards a better future calls for growth, in turn stepping out of our limitations. Sometimes these acts are really tiny, but, can have a deep impact on how they add to us, seeking more of ourself. God created us with brains to seek to be our best and keep on chasing our light within, without which we are no different than furniture. Happy Thinking!
Thank you Universe for showering so much love on me.

Update 7.5.19
I had an official trip to Mumbai and return on the same day. Thought of driving to airport and parking there, it was one of the things on my bucket-list. Finally, I decided to fulfill it.
It was such an amazing experience, of driving at 4am.
And, can’t even describe the feeling after landing, as I realised my car was waiting for me, and I did not have to struggle with bookings, cabs, drivers.
All my fatigue was gone and I was as excited to drive all over again.
